Half our life is spent trying to find something to do with the time we have rushed through trying to save.
– Will Rogers
Who isn’t trying to get more time back into their day?
Whether it’s an hour lunch break, a gym session at the end of the day, working on that extra report that doesn’t have a deadline but we’d love to get done, or getting more sleep, we are all wishing for at least an hour or two added to each day.
But what happens when we get a spare hour or two? How often is the first priority sleep? Or an impromptu visit to the gym?
How many of us find ourselves wasting the hour browsing Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter or other Blog sites? Playing a game of Words with Friends or SongPop?
It’s definitely a form of procrastination, but it doesn’t feel that way because we had the hour spare, and we hadn’t scheduled the time to work, or work out or scheduled time to have the extra time to complete that report.
So this week I wanted to challenge us all (and me especially) to fit in all of the things we want to get done, in our spare time. For me, it’s silly things, like ironing what’s in the wash basket before it goes in the drawers and sending out thank you cards. And the reason to do this, instead of checking out Pinterest and Twitter? Because it takes a great weight of my shoulders, makes me feel good about myself and makes me realize I have time to do a whole load of other things, with the burst of energy I get from the endorphin of getting it done. And once everything is done? Then I can do some guilt free browsing 🙂
